Evelien Jansen, affectionately known as Eef, is a Dutch freelance dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She graduated from the Urban/Contemporary department of the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam.
Eef has danced with notable companies such as Hofesh Shechter Company II and KOMOCO, led by Sofia Nappi. Additionally, she has collaborated with choreographers and companies including Humanhood, Anne Suurendonk, Dalton Jansen, and Faizah Grootens.
As a teacher, Eef is known for her dynamic and imaginative approach. Her classes emphasize total body awareness, organic movement, and rhythmic flow. She encourages students to engage in guided improvisation, blending various techniques and qualities into movement phrases. Her teaching philosophy centers on fostering growth through exploration and collective joy.
Eef regularly teaches at esteemed institutions such as Codarts, the Academy of Theatre and Dance Amsterdam, Fontys, and Henny Jurriëns Studio. She also conducts workshops internationally, sharing her expertise and passion for contemporary dance.
