In the first part of this daylong intensive, we prepare the body and nervous system for safe and effective acrobatic practice. The focus is on prehab, activation, handstand preparation, and partner calibrations — building the technical foundation needed to approach hand to hand with confidence, precision, and trust.
Working with clear progressions and safe spotting techniques, you will develop the body awareness and partner sensitivity that make dynamic acrobatics both accessible and sustainable.
This part gives you the tools. The second part puts them into motion.
In this practice you will explore:
• Prehab and acrobatic preparation for wrists, shoulders, core, and hips
• Handstand drills and ATB (Alignment, Tightness, Balance)
• L-base and standing-base hand to hand calibrations in regular and reverse
• Spotting techniques and safety principles for partner acrobatics
For who:
• Curious practitioners
• Movers wanting to build a solid technical foundation for hand to hand work
• Those ready to approach acrobatics with precision and care
The workshop takes place at the AcroYoga Moves studio of Yvonne & Lennert, right next to Scheltema.
How to find:
The entrance is on the back. Walk through the Hazewindsteeg (lefthand side when facing the theatre/Stadsschouwburg), and then first street to the right. First door: ring the bell with AcroYoga moves on it 😉
Attending John's workshop was such a refreshing and enjoyable experience. His ability to make complex movements feel approachable and fun really stood out. The space he creates allows you to explore AcroYoga at your own pace while feeling supported and connected with others. I left the workshop feeling uplifted, energized, and excited to continue my practice!
