This practice introduces the foundations of traditional and modern Chinese martial arts (Wushu). You will explore fundamental stances, kicks, coordination drills, and simple forms that develop balance, agility, flexibility, and focused attention.
Beyond technique, the session also explores the principles behind the movement: structure, breath, intention, and clarity of action. Through these elements, you’ll discover how power and precision emerge from alignment, coordination, and presence.
Wushu is both a physical discipline and a cultural practice rooted in focus and embodied awareness. Whether you are curious about martial arts or already familiar with movement training, this session offers a supportive space to build or refine your foundation.
In this practice you will explore:
• Coordination and balance through martial movement
• Agility, flexibility, and grounded strength
• The relationship between breath, structure, and intention
• How martial training cultivates control, resilience, and expressive movement
For who:
• Anyone curious about martial arts and structured movement
• Movers wanting to build coordination, balance, and control
• Those interested in exploring movement through a martial lens
Challenging workshop for all levels in which there is attention for both the group as the individual
Jonathan Vermeiren - Dancer, Mimer, Mover
Learning Kung Fu through thoughtful attention to body mechanics and load is genuinely refreshing. Dan’s classes are demanding, yet properly grounded in how bodies adapt. It’s rewarding to train and progress in a group environment that truly values shared life-long practice and community.
Ken Ijumba - Doctor
Dan manages to make his classes extremely accessible and approachable for an absolute beginner, while still providing obviously expert coaching. Had lots of fun, and was also amazed by the discipline and strength of the sport and 100% would do again!
