Chaturanga Dandasana is one of the most practiced transitions in yoga, and one of the most misunderstood. For many practitioners, it's a pose that passes by quickly, leaving a nagging sense of "am I doing this right?" This workshop slows it all the way down.
You will explore the optimal mechanics of the whole body in chaturanga: how the shoulders, wrists, and core work together, and how to build the strength and stability that make the pose feel grounded rather than strained.
Preparatory poses and regressions make the content accessible regardless of where you are in your practice.
Understanding chaturanga changes more than one pose, it changes the foundation of your entire Vinyasa practice.
In this practice you will explore:
• The optimal biomechanics of chaturanga from the ground up
• Shoulder stability, wrist mobility, and core integration
• Preparatory poses and accessible regressions
• How a strong chaturanga supports arm balances and inversions
For who:
• Yoga practitioners wanting to understand and refine their chaturanga
• Teachers looking to offer clearer guidance on this foundational transition
• Anyone who has ever wondered if they are doing it correctly
