The Art of Giving and Receiving in the Air
Immerse yourself in the nourishing practice of Flying Therapeutics — the restorative, healing side of AcroYoga that blends elements of Thai massage, partner stretching, and supported inversion. This workshop is an invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and experience the profound benefits of giving and receiving weightless bodywork.
Throughout the session, you will:
- Learn the fundamentals of safe and supportive therapeutic flying
- Explore techniques to release tension, decompress the spine, and open the body effortlessly
- Develop mindful communication to enhance trust and attunement between partners
- Experience both roles — as flyer and base — cultivating empathy, connection, and balance
Flying Therapeutics offers a unique opportunity to relax and rejuvenate while being gently supported in the air. You’ll leave with practical tools to integrate into your movement practice and partner work, as well as a deeper sense of ease and connection.
No partner or prior AcroYoga experience is required — all are welcome.
Come ready to relax, restore, and uplift — both yourself and others.

John Karvelis
AcroYoga Teacher
John’s path to yoga began unexpectedly during his career as an engineer when a friend introduced him to the practice—an introduction that ignited a transformative journey. Since then, he has fully embraced the world of movement, healing, and mindful connection.
Certified as a Level 2 AcroYoga teacher, with 300-hour certifications in Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Krama, John is also a trained practitioner of Thai Yoga Massage and OsteoThai through the Sunshine Network.
As a senior teacher with the AcroYoga International organization and co-founder of AeriaLife Training and MyFlow Academy, John travels globally to facilitate teacher trainings, lead workshops, and inspire others with his unique blend of dynamic acrobatics, therapeutic touch, and community-based practices. His teaching invites students to experience presence, playfulness, and connection, while exploring the deep relationship between body and mind.
Having performed in dance and partner acrobatics, John brings a creative and fluid approach to his teachings, creating a space for exploration and growth. Based in Athens, he has shared his expertise across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Mexico, and the United States, building bridges between communities through shared movement and experiences.
“The miracle is this: the more we share, the more we have.”
"Attending John’s workshop was such a refreshing and enjoyable experience. His ability to make complex movements feel approachable and fun really stood out. The space he creates allows you to explore AcroYoga at your own pace while feeling supported and connected with others. I left the workshop feeling uplifted, energized, and excited to continue my practice!"
